I am inconsistent with posting on Instagram. And it doesn’t matter | Note from Self week 25
Last week I was sick and I pretty much disappeared from Instagram. I posted one post and I didn’t show up much in stories because I didn’t have much of a voice.
And I am really thankful that I am not one of those people who think that you have to show up every day and you have to be consistent in that way, because otherwise people will forget about you.
I believe that the key is alignment, that whatever we create and put out there comes from our true self and vice versa, that we are in alignment with what we put out there. That is the key.
That is what people resonate with. That is what they want from us.
Which is exactly my experience having been active on Instagram for many years now. I have sold various offers through the platform, and I haven’t been super consistent.
There have been times where I completely disappeared or where I pivoted and changed direction and did something else. And none of that stopped people from buying when I did show up with offers that came from my heart.
I mean, of course, the more you show up and actively sell, of course, the more you can sell. But that’s the thing, right? We can always do more. And there is always s potential of getting into the hamster wheel of “not enough”.
But I don’t believe in this way of being fear driven and pushing yourself through things out of fear from otherwise people won’t buy from you, or, if you don’t push yourself now, this is all going to fall apart.
I believe in listening to your body. Making sure that you get into alignment and also listening to the messages your body is sending you.
Like last week, I could feel this was my body forcing me to take a break. A break that I wouldn’t have taken by myself but that was necessary before going any further in on something that wasn’t really at the stage where it was ready to be shared with the outside world. There were a few puzzle pieces that weren’t really in the right place. So when I got this pause because I just couldn’t do anything, I was going through this inner sorting process.
And I saw, “Oh yeah, I thought I was gonna do this, but this would be much more aligned and this would be much better”. So I was able to refine things. None of this is visible on the outside right now. But there is so much more clarity in me so that I know that when I do take more action steps on the outside that will be visible, it will come from a much deeper alignment than what I had before.
So in that sense I’d like to remind you: don’t see any of the unplanned breaks as something negative. Don’t look at them as something that’s slowing you down. And I know it can be frustrating when you see others seemingly moving so much faster and doing so much more.
Just like it’s important to act when the time is ripe for action, it is also important to pause when something is off and we need to recalibrate so that we don’t head too fast too far in the wrong direction.
My course on Loving Sales Mastery just got a little better thanks to the break that had me making a few adjustments. The beauty of which is that it creates momentum, and I can’t wait to get to the part where I physically create and record the lessons that have been growing invisibly on the inside so far.
So if I can just leave you with one friendly reminder for your business growth journey today it would be to turn inwards and ask yourself what the one small action step is that you can take today, that will get your closer to your next goal.
Is it starting to talk about that offer you have been dreaming about? Is it getting clear on who your dream clients are? Is it getting to know the part of you that doesn’t want to have to sell? Is it deciding consciously to allow yourself to take a break (instead of business yourself but not really getting anywhere because you truly need some rest)?
Whatever the answer is: the more you trust yourself to follow it, the more momentum and alignment your path will gain.
