I was scared of this week. Was my planning unrealistic? | Note from self week 30

I’m not going to lie—I was a little scared of this week.

My boyfriend and I have just started our four weeks of vacation together, and I was worried I wouldn’t get anything done for my business.

Not because I have to work.

But because I genuinely love it.

Creating offers, building courses, talking to you on Instagram, working with clients, writing the Notes from Self … my business isn’t the thing that’s pulling me away from my dream life.

It is my dream life.

Of course, I also love spending time with Jimmy ❤️ and we’re finally making progress on the house (I’ll share more about that in a moment 🏡). So before vacation even started, I had already adjusted my expectations. I knew I wouldn’t be spending full days working.

Still, I underestimated just how much I would miss creating.

One thing I’ve been noticing this week is that we’re slowly finding our rhythm together.

We haven’t spent a day apart since we met (yes, I know… that’s a little wild 😄).

We’re both people who love closeness and spending time together.

But we’re also discovering that we don’t actually have to do everything together.

The other day we went to the hardware store to buy parts for our rainwater system. We have been researching different solutions and Jimmy came up with a plan.

Meanwhile, I was standing there thinking…

“I have absolutely no idea what’s going on.” 😂

Later we both realized something funny.

I felt overwhelmed because I didn’t understand enough to really contribute.

He felt stressed because making decisions was harder while I was standing next to him.

So today, while I was recording lessons for Loving Sales Mastery and as I am writing to you, he happily went back to the hardware store on his own.

Turns out…

That works much better for both of us.

It’s funny how relationships keep teaching you that togetherness doesn’t always mean doing the same thing.

Sometimes it means giving each other space to enjoy your own projects.

And honestly… that’s exactly what happened with my business this week too.

There were moments where I genuinely thought:

“There’s no way I’m going to have time for this.”

I’ve already simplified my plans.

Right now I’m only posting consistently on my English Instagram account.

My German account is waiting.

And that’s okay.

Because something else became clear.

I don’t need to finish everything.

I only need to keep moving.

For me, that currently means creating one module of Loving Sales Mastery each week.

That’s enough.

The first lesson is already recorded 🎉 and over the next few days I’ll upload the first module.

The rest will follow.

One step at a time.

One thing that gave me so much peace this week was remembering something Julia Cameron writes in The Artist’s Way.

She talks about how so much creative work isn’t created during endless, uninterrupted days.

It’s created in the small windows.

Half an hour here.

An hour there.

Between everything else life asks of us.

I think so many of us secretly imagine that one magical future where our calendar is completely empty.

No distractions.

No responsibilities.

Just endless time to create.

But that’s not real life.

Real life is full.

There are houses to renovate.

Loved ones to take care of.

Jobs to do.

Appointments to keep.

Meals to cook.

Laundry to fold.

And somehow…

Art still gets made.

Businesses still get built.

Dreams still move forward.

Little by little.

I actually find that incredibly comforting.

Because it means nothing has gone wrong.

This isn’t just my reality.

It’s everyone’s.

And maybe that’s why those small creative windows become so precious.

They’re little islands that you begin to look forward to.

You stop thinking in extremes.

Instead of:

“If I don’t have six uninterrupted hours, there’s no point.”

You start thinking:

“I have 45 minutes… let’s see what I can create.”

And over time, those little windows accumulate into something much bigger than you ever expected.

That’s probably my biggest lesson from this week.

Life isn’t asking us to pause our dreams until everything becomes quiet.

It’s inviting us to create within the life we’re already living.

And honestly…

I think that’s even more beautiful. 💛
